First day of the field

 We left for the field yesterday at 2 am it I ate some subway at the airport and it was the best thing I have ever had. It was so good to not be eating food at the mtc haha. It was insanely good iv´e never liked subway as much as I did then. We were sitting there waiting to board our plane and about 10 min before we were supposed to get on this lady comes and sits by us and was confused because of all the missionary tags. So me and these two elders were like we gotta talk to this girl. So we just started talking to her and she was from merida and was telling us all about it. Then I was like were missionaries of the church of jesus christ and asked her if she knew what the book of mormon was and she didn´t so we shared with her 2 Nephi 25:26 which is basically what we believe. Then asked her if she wanted the book of mormon and she said no then we asked her if she´d rather download the app and she wanted to so I would say it was a pretty successful first lesson. After that we landed in Merida and our mission president picked us up then we met the AP`s they were really cool. Mission president was awesome taught us a few things and we ate some eggs at his house. then we got our companions. My companions name is Elder Leal he`s from northern mexico hes the District leader of our area Progreso. He likes just about all the same stuff I do and he`s  very dilligent. He`s sweet he`s got such a strong testimony and I hope be a missionary just like him. He doesn`t speak any english so it`s kind of hard to communicate but he`s really helpful and patient.  our area is narrow strip along the beach its really pretty. Our apartment is pretty big and I slept in a hammock for the first time it wasn´t to bad actually. I would`ve emailed yesterday but we had a baptism. This little girl and athough I didn´t understand a whole lot I could feel the spirit. Last week my comp had a baptism and it was these couple who were dating. I got to meet them and they were pretty awesome. They got married friday baptised saturday and got confirmed sunday. He loved telling me that and showing me pictures of it. They have a little girl who`s 2 and she is so cute haha. She`s also about the only person I can understand when they speak spanish haha. They brought us some food last night and it tasted like ramen noodles on a tortilla haha was kinda gross. After the baptism we also had some spicy noodles with hot dogs mixed in it was kinda weird but wasn´t terrible. I`m learning lots of spanish now that Im only speaking spanish. I dont think I can send any pictures I took but I can send some that my comp sent me and other people from the week. Today we have a first lesson with a girl named Isabel and the goal is to commit her to baptism today. Seems kinda fast but my comp knows what he`s doing. Were also going to try and find someone in the street to take to church sunday so well see how it goes.

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
