Elder Jones

Wow this week has flown by, it has been pretty crazy but another great week, some highlights from the week. 1. We had a ton of success Facebook finding! Many lost souls have been found! 2. Shanta and her daughter are still preparing for baptism, might just have to delay their date a little. 3. I went on exchange in Lee's Summit and gave their district a huge boost, and hyped them up a ton!  I was able to come up with some good new ideas and lets just say that they are working! So Thursday came around and we had district council, I was going to be going on exchange with a different district leader and help them boost their area. Basically they told me to just find people to teach, so we started Facebook finding, the day was pretty slow but we found someone and then 9pm rolled around and we had only found 1 but then people started responding and we set up 3 phone calls between 9-10 and were able to find 3 more! This week was absolutely AWESOME!!! Tuesday I went on exchange with one of the Elders in my district and we were able to find 3 new people which was pretty awesome! Then Wednesday we had a mission tour with Elder Wong (not Gong) and it was great. A mission tour is not really a mission tour, basically it was just a zone conference with an member of the 70. Elder Wong taught us a lot about how we need to work with members more often and how we can use them to help on the missionary work. So we decided we would try and be better at that. So on Thursday we went to teach Bud (his real name is George but he likes us to call him Bud) and he just married a member of our ward so we had a super good lesson and we invited him to be baptized and he accepted! His wife and her kids aren't very active in the church but missionary work has encouraged them to come back so they have been to church twice now which is pretty cool!   We are still having a ton of success in our area, we have been teaching a lot of people, Shanta is one of them and she is an absolute stud! She has read the introduction, 3 and 8 witnesses, testimony of Joseph Smith, all the way to 1st Nephi 11! She has tons of good questions like "why did God command  Nephi to kill Laban" she said the gospel has filled a hole in her heart that she didn't know was there! She is super excited to be baptized, yesterday we covered everything we were worried about but she didn't have a single problem with it. Yesterday we brought a member and they just became great friends, and after we left a couple other members went over and became friends with her, it has been super awesome! She is so much happier now than she was when we first met her! She has 3 kids and 2 of them are just the funniest, they always are talking like there from the hood and trash talking each other.   Transfers came and went and I thought they were going to send a lot of us away but he wants to keep us here so Elder Nelson and I are on transfer 3 together! We did get a new Elder, Elder Burkett hes pretty cool he likes sports so luckily we will get to play lots of sports!  Haley- Haley is an atheist lady who had no interest in learning about the gospel she wouldn't even let us pray but after time we have slowly been able to help her feel the spirit, first she allowed us to pray then talk about scripture and now she has started reading the Book of Mormon and came to church yesterday and brought her entire family!!! SHANTA- Shanta is an absolute BEAST!!!! The zone leaders told us to go do some service for her and so we did and after we shared the gospel with her, we had a super spirit filled lesson and she told us she knew that what we were sharing was true!
