New Comp

This week has been crazy I have been working with my new comp Elder Bonilla hes got an accent like Arnold Shwartanager not sure if I spelt that right haha but he`s was crazy hard to understand those first few days but I am used to it now. I was a little worried about planning and finding the houses of people and our very first day we lost our phone haha. So that first day we went around talking to all of our best investigators because we didnt have a phone. We put down appointments to visit them taught a little quick lesson and left. It was a little hard to find everything but wasn`t to big of a problem. Last week we had a problem with this super great family we have been teaching and they`ve gone to church two times. But we had a great excuse to visit them because we no longer had their phone number. My companion is really good at teaching and fixing problems and within the first 5 min we had resolved all the problems and were able to regain their trust. We ended up teaching them again and committing the family to baptism. They and know they tell us everytime we walk into their house that its our house we can do what we want and they fed us dinner one night to which was so awesome. At first I thought this was going to be a terrible week but losing our phone turned out to be such a blessing. 


Funny story: We have this other investigator whos name is Rafael hes 80 years old (like 70% of our investigators) but we have been teaching him and every week he asks us when he can be baptized and we always have the same answer when your ready and go to church a few more times. We took him to this baptism of our companions on the other side of progresso and it was this old lady who was about the same age. We took him in there and this guy has got a ton of confidence its crazy but he walks in with his walker his shades nice shirt and everything and him and this girl who was gonna be baptized were just talking like crazy. She ended up having some problems being baptized because of her back and it took like 3 tries lol but eventually worked out. But after Rafael was telling us how he doesn`t have back problems and he`s ready for baptism haha. He also told us after the baptism that this girl was his girlfriend when he was 15 ( don`t know how he remembered that when he can hardly remember our lessons) But I checked with this girl and she said the same thing haha. Overall its been a great week we have had a lot of progress with out investigators and my new companion is awesome. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
