week of service

Holy crapppp this week was crazy! Its my companions last transfer and the mission pres told us we gotta focus on reactivating the branch. So thats what we went to do, first the relief society pres told us we need to find a new young womens pres but she wants someone who knows the gospel really well, good with kids, and has a strong family. (No one in the branch haha) she gave us a one option haha but its this sister we have been working with since i got here and they still haven't come to church. I'm pretty good friends with them already and i always pass by when i'm hungry haha so a lot. So we went and passed by and we had a pretty bomb lesson about how change starts with you. This same week we changed houses wednesday that took all morning then we went to a little town in our area called flamboyanes (mosquito town) i hate going there cause repellant doesn't do you any good there are so many mosquitos but we found a sweet x missionary hes actually super cool and he's been starting to come back to church, and theres no men in the ward cause they're all fishers but he wants to start working with us so thats awesome. After that we went to visit this sister that we had been visiting and she wasn't there just her husband and he was busy building a room for her daughter for christmas but we asked if we could come back and help him cause he wouldn't let us in our nice clothes. We went back the next morning early and got to la chamba (to work) mixing concrete putting up a wall in his house they said i work like a mexican because i work nonstop. Kinda a blessing from service, he was playing music and micheal jackson came on and i haven't heard mj for a good few months. We got done and he invited us to eat with them and we ate some squid, some habenero peppers like always and the best fish i have ever had i think its the first time i have ever asked for seconds! We invited them to church and they said they'd go for the first time ever!!! Comes around to sunday and they didn't show up haha thats just how it is some times but i taught a class in english then we went to do service right after church tonnnnnnns of weeds but it was actually pretty fun then we went to a sisters house and helped her move. Overall tons of service and i learned that service is truly the best way to show your love for others and you can tell by the joy they will have. Everyone we had served were so happy and felt the love we had for them but i think i was happier than they were. We did a lot more small acts of service but i don't wanna make this email tooo long but I wanna invite everyone to look for ways to do service this week i promise youll find many opportunities and will find joy! Because when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
