2 weeks in maxcanú

Well sorry I didn´t write last week I was doing service but i´m here to tell you that everything is going good. Some things to know about maxcanú is there are a lotttttt of dogs! haha but it is super dope here its a branch of about 40 active members and every ward has problems but every branch has a lot more haha. The first week I was here we had 2 people on date for baptism and over that last 2 weeks we have put another 7 on date and of the new 7, 6 went to church yesterday. The members are helping us out a ton and yesterday we had 60 in church and 8 of the 60 were investigators. Super awesome we had like 2 rows with just us and investigators haha. We got 2 investigators married today so they can get baptized on saturday and we are hoping to baptize every week until the 15. My companion Elder Flores is pretty dope but hes been having a few health issues so ive been helping him out a lot. We have been praying hard and we have seen a lot of results. 


We were teaching this family of 4 their dad is never home cause hes always working and their mom left them so its a 14 year old girl raising her 3 siblings and none of them go to school. Its really sad and when my companion told me they didn´t go to school I was like this will be easy then they won´t have many questions but holy crap she asked us some good questions and I was really surprised and they wanted to get baptized but their father doesn´t like them going to other churches. But with some more teaching and a lot of prayers we got them to go to church and they had an amazing experience they said it was life changing. When they went home they asked their dad if they could be baptized and I think their dad saw how happy they were and said yes!! It was so awesome and they went to church yesterday too. We have been having a lot of success and     I´m loving it here in maxcanú! It just goes to show when we rely on the lord through prayer and give it our best we really receive blessings.

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
