Another great week in quarantine

We have had a super great week here in Blue springs, Elder Nelson and I have had so many people come to our English Connect classes and have been able to teach a lot of people because of it! It has been great! We have also been able to teach some super good lessons, the only bad part is we are still stuck at home :( one of our roommates had some symptoms and so he got tested but we still haven't received any results so we have been inside alllll week. I'm not much of an inside person but I guess it is what it is. We have been working hard to stay busy and we have seen a few miracles from it!


So Saturday we were calling some past investigators and I felt like we needed to call this guy named Josh so we did it and we called two times and he didn't answer so we went to leave him a voice mail and it was full so we had the voicemail box send a text with our number, for some reason he said he thought it was some sort of bill paying phone call so he called us back! When we said we were the missionaries he said ohh well if I knew it was you guys I never would have called back! So I said well why is that? He said I don't know the missionaries always told me not to drink, so I told him just because you drink doesn't mean your a bad person. Then he said well I've never been one to go to church, and so we explained why we go to church and he said it sounded so good he wanted to go with us the next day! The only problem was we couldn't go to church because we can't leave our house because we haven't got our results back yet! So we decided to do church with him over the phone with a member and we taught about 1st Nephi chapter 1 and the lesson went so well the guy started crying 2 times during the lesson! He ended up telling us he wanted to get closer to God by not drinking anymore haha! It went super well and he committed to read at least a chapter a day if the Book of Mormon! He also committed to come to church next week so hopefully it goes well!

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
