ENGLISH CONNECT

It's been another great week here in Blue Springs we have kind of hit a wall though for finding people we have to start coming up with some better ideas I guess? We got a new Mission President this week! President Ames is super cool he likes to play Golf and has a house in St.george haha so 2 of my mission Presidents live within a few minutes of my house in st.george! We had the chance to hear from him and some of his plans for the mission he seems like a really great guy. He shared with us some really cool scriptures, he knows them super well. We can mention something and he will say that sounds a lot like this scripture it's pretty crazy. 

Saturday one of our roommates woke up with a fever and so we have been in quarantine for a while in the house and can't leave anymore :( so we have been trying to find things to do in our house because the cell service is terrible and makes it super hard to work online. 

I think i figured out my purpose for being here in Missouri, Friday night I was praying we could see some miracles cause it had been kind of a long week and we had a lot of people cancel and Saturday I learned that there's this church program called English Connect it's made to help people learn English as well as the Gospel! So we were running out of ways to find people so I was like let's just try it out. So I posted this thing saturday night saying I'd be teaching a free English class Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sunday morning I woke up and there was like 80 new messages and tons of likes and comments on Facebook it was crazy! Were over a hundred now haha! So were trying to figure out how to teach them so were gonna split it up into 4 groups haha! Super pumped to try it out. Yesterday we got to teach two of them who couldn't attend the classes when we had them and taught them how to pray in English and they liked it! It was a huge answer to my prayer, this week were hoping to teach a bunch of them so keep us in your prayers were setting some super high goals trying to Find! Find! Find!

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
