Keto for the WIN and a Run in with the APs 😬

I never thought I'd say this but the Keto diet is LEGENDARY! (No I am not doing it) Shanta is going to quit smoking TODAY because of the Keto diet! One of our members is her best friend now and they're going to do the Keto diet together and it seems to help shanta quit smoking so that's pretty dope! She loved conference and she is going to have us start teaching her family! (Mother, Sister, Daughter) Shanta is pretty dope and will get baptized the 24th! Shanta has a ton of friends in the ward and is just loving church. She told us that the gospel has filled a hole in her heart that she didn't know was there and that from the very moment of touching the Book of Mormon she could feel the spirit from it!

Thursday morning we had district council and the zone leaders had some meeting so they wanted to take an hour out of our district council and so like an hour before it started they told me they were sick so they couldn't come, so I had to find something else to fill up the hour they were supposed to take up and so I assigned it to everyone in my district. Then right when I started we get a call from the APs they said "come open the door" so they decided to join us in our district council which was kind of a mess because the zone leaders left haha but it was actually pretty good. They told us that as a district of 4 we are doing better than most zones as far as missionary work! I thought that was pretty awesome!


George is also a baller he loved conference as well, it led him to learning a lot about the Priesthood and he is getting ready for baptism the 24th as well! It's going to be DOPE! He has started thinking of a calling! Hes pretty dope and he is just waiting until his date to be baptized! He has been like a Jewish priest before and has been around a lot of different religions but he said this one feels right! He asked us last time what left does he have to do to just join the church already! He loves the church a bunch and is excited to go to the temple!


Conference was pretty awesome I loved how they really focused on how we are all equall in the sight of God. We had 7 of our investigators watch it, and all that we have talked to said that they really liked it! Something that really stuck out to me was Elder Stephensons talk we had talked about it before but he was talking about 1st Nephi 1:1 I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; Heres the part that's really good! "and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days;" it's true how God loves us and sometimes that's why he allows bad things to happen in our lives. Its because he wants us to learn and grow!

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
