COON SZN

 What the heck is a coon you might wonder?? I'm talking about good old raccoons!!! So Elder Gilbert is going home in a few weeks and wants a raccoon hat and another Elder is making raccoon ties for the whole zone. So we have been on the lookout for any raccoons. Thursday before we had a lesson and left the house we said a prayer that we'd find a racoon on the way to the lesson and our prayers were answered! A dead raccoon in the middle of the road so we pushed it off to the side cause we weren't gonna leave that in the car during the lesson and after the lesson we asked for some trash bags and we got ourselves a racoon! We took it to another Elders house where we'd skin it too. Since then we have found 2 more raccoon tails for ties and are on the hunt for more! 


Some other cool things, we are teaching our downstairs neighbor Jeff and he is such a baller. He lost his job and had been looking for a new one but because he lost his job we have been able to talk with him daily. We invited him over to a less active members house for some dinner and we watched the restoration and he loved it and it went super well. He loved the member too, he committed to come to church and sunday morning he followed us to church! He had an amazing experience where he felt the spirit very strong at church. He said he was coming next week too! That night we went down to his house and invited him to be baptized and he accepted! We're now working with him on that! 

Yesterday was come and see Sunday so we had a special program and everyone was invited to bring a couple of friends and the members brought 5 friends to church and I'm sure more attended over zoom! It was cool to see all the amazing experiences everyone had! The spirit was extremely strong and the music was extremely good! Jeff said he wants to play the guitar one of these weeks at church😂 he said he used to be in a band and can play pretty well, but we will have to see I guess! The work is going great, I love it here and I'm excited to see what more goes on this week! I'm grateful for all of the people who participated in the birth of Jesus Christ and all of the sacrifices that they made to make it possible and to make the story so great! I'm grateful for the privilege I have to serve a mission at this time and for the people we have met and the things that I have been able to learn. A scripture I liked from my studies this week was Mark 8:35 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it." It is so true I have learned so much during this little time that I've been out here and would invite you all to lose your life for the gospels sake as well. It is such a blessing! I love you all and hope you have an amazing week and Christmas!

finally my first pday

I don´t even know where to start haha. I got off the plane last tuesday with about 30 other missionaries, and half of them were going to my mission. We took a bus to the mtc and I got to know everyone going to my district and I liked most of them but there was one kid who I didn't want to have as a companion because we had nothing in common. I like to play sports he liked to read books, I like to be outside, he likes to read books haha. But of course we got assigned to be companions and I had kind of a bad attitude about it for my first 2 days and those were the longest two days ive ever had. I prayed that I could come to love my companion and that day we listened to a talk by elder gong and he was talking about the importance of having a good relationship with your companion. He said to stop focusing on the things you didn't like about your companion and to focus on the things your companion was good at and since then its been great. It is great to be back

How is everyone doing? I know it's been a while but for all of those who didn't know I have been reassigned from merida mexico, to independence Missouri! I have 2 new companions (so were in a trio) and we are in the blue springs area (Kansas city)! It has been pretty different teaching over the phone and in english but it is still awesome! We have been teaching a lot of members and looking for a lot of new investigators, we have just been making phone call after phone call and looking for people to teach through Facebook! It has been super awesome and I have been able to find a few spanish speakers that seem pretty interested. Missouri is so pretty everything is so green and there's grass and lakes everywhere! Were right by the Missouri river too and that's pretty huge haha. My new companions are Elder Clements and Elder Thiriot and there both pretty awesome! The work keeps rolling

How is everyone doing? Hope good, everything is going good here in maxcanú were working hard and finding new people to teach! We have quite a bit of people progressing were hoping to baptize a few more here in Maxcanú. We have a baptism coming up this week for saul! I was talking to him and hes going to turn 17 this week and I asked him what are you gonna do when you turn 18 and he told me he wants to go on the mission. I was super pumped haha because he still hasn't even been baptized yet super awesome. We also had a multizone and I got to see some of the elders in Progreso my old area and they told me that the converts are starting to work hard with the missionaries and help them get more people to teach and progress. I was super excited to here that! We are also teaching this new investigator and her dad and sister were baptized 20 years ago but she never accepted the gospel.
